Moving on to dimensions, the SUV measures 4,455mm in length, 1,735mm in width, 1,650mm in height and gets a wheelbase of 2,660mm. Other than the promise of ample cabin space, Honda BR-V’s ground clearance of 201mm gives a fair idea about its readiness to take on the variety of roads in the country.

Honda’s 7-seater compact SUV will be offered with a choice of two engine options: the 1.5-litre SOHC petrol and the 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel. While the petrol unit develops 117 horses along with a maximum torque of 146Nm, the diesel puts out 99bhp and 200Nm of torque. For transmission, Honda will offer a 6-speed manual gearbox along with the choice of a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission).

Honda BR-V compact SUV, which is scheduled to be launched in India on 5 May, 2016, is now available for pre-bookings across the car maker’s dealerships in the country for a token amount of 21,000. One must note, that these are only dealer bookings; Honda is yet to make an official announcement about the BR-V’s bookings.

Honda BRV Rivals:
The Honda BR-V compact SUV’s list of rivals includes established names like the Renault Duster and the Hyundai Creta. Keeping its competition in mind, we expect the Honda BR-V’s price to range between 8.5 lakh – 12 lakh.
